About Me

I believe in a team-based approach to health care in which you, as an expert on your personal experiences, utilize my training in the treatment of mental health issues to help you live a joyful, fulfilling life. In short, not only do I want to help you function, I want to help you thrive!  As a psychiatric physician assistant I am licensed by the state board of medical examiners to practice medicine with the supervision of a licensed physician. This includes diagnosing illnesses and prescribing the medications and therapy required to treat them.  I am in constant contact with Dr. DuBose and we always create and fine-tune your treatment plan as a team. We sincerely believe setting two minds to any problem is the way to the most efficient and successful solution.

Your appointment begins with an hour-long psychiatric interview (90 minutes for children) wherein I get to know you as a person to best assess your goals and current level of functioning in addition to making an initial diagnosis and treatment plan.  Dr. DuBose and I share the philosophy that “less is best” with regard to medications and strive to have medication regimens as streamlined as possible when they are necessary.  We also emphasize the importance of therapy and spirituality in the maintenance of your mental health.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, traveling, college football, and exploring my new hometown: Columbia, SC.
