About Me

Since my specialty is in the prescribing of medications, I recognize that you are trusting me with your health, your privacy, your story, and your suffering.  I consider this to be a sacred privilege to be a part of your inner world.  I don’t take that for granted, and I know that no one takes lightly the idea of going on psychiatric medications.  Many people have a lot of opposition to these types of medications, because of advertisements for lawsuits, friends’ experience and internet reports of all kinds of scary side effects.  Before you come to see me, I pledge to be as honest as I know how to be about the common and less common side effects of medications.  I would ask you to come with an open mind about receiving counseling along with medications, and also to come with questions that I will answer to the best of my ability.  Our team members will help me answer your questions between appointments in order that we can work together, along with your therapist, for your benefit.  Because of increasing Medicare and insurance regulations, I regret that I am not a part of any insurance networks.  This frees my time from paperwork to the insurance companies, so that I can spend more time seeing patients, or being able to do mission trips to Haiti, or recharging my batteries with my family.  I look forward to meeting you!
