About Me

I live in Lexington with my wife of twenty-six years. We are blessed with four amazing young adult children and two dogs. I served in the U.S. Army before earning a B.S. in Organizational Leadership. I have over 20 years experience successfully developing people, teams, organizations, and processes with FedEx (13 years) and Amazon (8 years). Upon entering the “empty nest” season of life I felt called to the helping professions. I find it to be deep and meaningful work. I look forward to spending the remainder of my career giving back to the people of my community by providing exceptional and compassionate mental health care services.

Counseling Session Approach

I seek to create a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic environment. In other words, I strive to earn and keep my clients trust. This allows my clients to simply be themselves as they explore their concerns while feeling seen, heard, understood, valued, accepted and supported.

I believe in a holistic approach to well-being based on a Christian worldview. This approach encompasses a person’s mind, body, spirit, emotions, environment, and relationships. Be assured that your unique worldview is vital to the healing process and will be respected at all times during our work together. My approach to counseling contains more than talking. Therapy is work. To be successful in therapy you must be willing to do this vital internal work. You are worth it!!! I serve as a collaborative partner to help you achieve your therapeutic goals.

My theoretical orientation is “eclectic” in nature. I draw ideas and techniques from clinically proven counseling approaches supported by peer-reviewed literature and research (e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, choice/reality therapy, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, existential therapy). My therapeutic philosophy and mission statement are based on John 10:10.
