About Me

If you’re reading this website, you’re likely considering coming for counseling or recommending it for a loved one or friend.  You have already taken steps on the journey toward healing.

With my Christian faith at the core of who I am and how I try to live, I see each person who comes into my office as a valuable, unique individual, loved by God.  I seek to serve my clients by exhibiting a reflection of that unconditional love and value that each of us are created to experience.

Life can hand us all sorts of unforeseen experiences.  Loss, death, or illness.  Relationship challenges or disappointments.   Seemingly unmanageable anxiety or depression.  Work-related problems.  Traumatic events or abuse.  ...What do we do with these things?  How do we cope with their effects upon our thoughts, feelings, and actions?  How do we get back to living life and thriving again?

I want to offer you an opportunity to encounter such issues together.  It’s not easy to confront the painful or confusing emotions, thoughts, or memories, but it is better when we’re not alone.  I hope to help you discover strengths within yourself and learn additional skills that facilitate your own ability to heal, recover, and restore those hurting places in your mind, emotions, relationships, and life.  Using a developmental orientation, I apply a variety of therapeutic techniques in order to do so.  I often draw upon Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Systems Theory to inform your therapeutic treatment.

In my personal life, I'm usually spending time with family or friends.  I enjoy good talks with my husband, my mom, or a friend.  I like to travel just about anywhere!  I also enjoy getting wrapped up in projects of all sorts - from arts & crafts to photography to home improvement.
