About Me

I view our relationship as collaborative, and it is my duty to help you facilitate the understanding of yourself, your experiences, your culture, and your relationships.  Counseling does not involve listening to problems but listening for solutions.

My counseling philosophy has been heavily influenced by cognitive behavioral theory and systems theory.  I believe in identifying the relationship among one’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.  I view the family as a system arranged around patterns and rules that dictate how the family and the individual members interact.  While families are imperfect systems, they are our greatest source of meaning, connection, and joy.

In addition to counseling, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family and friends.  I also like to work out, read, play with my dog Fenway, and travel.
